The Seventeenth Summer is a story of self discovery, love, and loss. Young Angie Morrow never knew what life was like until she met the clean-cut Jack Duluth, and the two complete strangers fell in love. Jack, the high school captain of the football and basketball teams and two time class president, was one of the most envied and loved boy in their town of Fon Du Lac, and Angie was the quieter, more lonesome type. And the two were meant for each other, but their relationship tended to be quiet nights on the beach or long car rides to their local soda shop. Maureen Daly has a great use of words, and described each scene and setting very thoroughly. She created great mental pictures, but the long paragraphs with in dept details tended to be boring and repetitive. But the Seventeenth Summer by Maureen Daly was a great book, and I think anyone would enjoy it.
